The tour skating track is located on the Lake of Tohloppi, in western Tampere, between two ridges. The location creates good conditions for tour skating as heavy winds are rare. The sheltered and low winded lake has no currents and the water level isn’t regulated. Therefore the surface of the ice is smooth and it contains fewer cracks compared to bigger lakes.
The tour skating track follows Lake Tohloppi shoreline, which makes the profile of the track natural and enjoyable to skate. The track is approximately 3,2 kilometers long and tour skating direction is set to counter clockwise in order to keep tour skaters safe. There are four starting points along the tour skating track, with seats for changing skates.
